How to Create a Folder on Desktop

PC – Right click on the desktop • Select new > folder • Type in the name of what you want the folder to be called.

Mac – Right click on the desktop • Select new folder • To rename the folder click on the name once and type in what you want the folder to be called.

How to save files to these folders

How to make word files into PDF

• • • • Open the Word file you would like to turn into a PDF “File” “Save As…” Change the format to PDF • “Save”

• • If you have a WordPress account type in the username and password for that account If you do not have a WordPress account click Get Started

Creating a WordPress Account

Never used WordPress before • • • Wordpress.com

Get started Enter in your information • Click on create blog under free

• • Fill in the information requested Then click Create Blog

• Now you will go to the email that you just put in.

• In the email that was just send click on Activate Blog

• Click Next Step • Next Step again

• • • • Enter in your username for Blog Title You do not have to have a tagline Select English as language Click Next Step

• • • These are some of the themes you can use We’ll show you another way to change your theme later Click Next Step

• Click Finish

Creating a WordPress Account

Have a WordPress page already • On the blue header click on My Blogs • Scroll all the way down to the bottom and click on create a new blog • • Enter in the information Click on Sign up under the free

How to make WordPress page static

• Click on the name of your page in the upper left hand corner • Click on dashboard, settings, reading • • • • Click on “A static page” For the Front page select home Leave posts page as “-Select-” Click Save Changes

How to make a WordPress page private • Click on the name of your page in the upper left hand corner • Click on Dashboard, Settings, Reading • Then have “ I would like my site to be private, visible only to users I choose” • Click on save changes

How to choose a theme

• Click on the name of your page in the upper left hand corner • Click on Dashboard, Appearance, Theme • Select which theme you want and click Activate – Some of the themes cost money. Only pick ones that don’t cost money.

• How to make pages and set them up in order Click on the name of your page in the upper left hand corner • • • Click on Dashboard, Pages, All Pages Click Quick Edit Under Order put what number you want this page in.

• • Click update Clinical Site 1, Research Reports 2, Clinical Reflections 3, Journal Table 4, Names of Respondents 5, References 6

How to put pictures on WordPress

• • • • • • Go to the page where you would like to add a picture and press “Edit” at the bottom of the page Click on the “Add Media” button “Select Files” Find the picture of your choice and open it Scroll down and press “Insert into Post” Scroll down and press “Update”

How to link a PDF on your WordPress

• • • • Click on the “Add Media” button “Select Files” Find the PDF file you would like to use and press “Open” Press “File URL” first and then press “Insert into Post” • Scroll down and press “Update”
