PREPOSITION
Preposition is a word that is used to link
nouns, pronouns, and phrases to other
words in a sentence. The word or
phrase that the preposition
introduces
is called the object of preposition.

A. Place – Between and Among

Between and among have the same meaning, but
between is used with two nouns and among is used
with three nouns or a plural noun.

Adverb or preposition?
An adverb is an answer of the question,
where?, when?, How? Or to what extent?
• Both common and compound prep. need more
than just themselves to answer the same
questions.
• In the sentence “The captain walked abroad”
abroad is an adverb because it does not start a
prep. phrase.
• In the sentence “The captain walked abroad the
ship” abroad is a prep. that begins the prep.
phrase.
