• The president can only serve 2 terms.
War Powers Act 1973
• Congress Declares war….but….
• The President can send troops into military
action without a declaration of war.
• Congress needs 48 hours notice.
• Troops cannot be there for longer than 60
days.
Pardon
• The forgiveness of a crime and the
cancellation of the relevant penalty
• The president can pardon any criminal.
Cabinet
• A group of people the president picks to give
him advice and help run the federal
government.
• This is part of the “unwritten constitution.”
Impeachment
• a formal process in which an official is accused
of unlawful activity

Electoral College
• A group of 538 electors who pick the
president.
• Each state gets one vote per senator, and
members in the house of reps.
• Washington DC also gets 3 electors.
