Pre/Post Assessment Process
for Trainers
NFSMI wants to determine the effectiveness of our face-toface trainings. As a method of providing concrete evidence
of effectiveness, NFSMI plans to officially administer the pre
and post assessments during some of our trainings.
O
Pre-Assessments
•
•
•
•
•
Trainings will be randomly selected for the official pre and post assessment. If
a training has been selected, trainers will be notified by their respective
training coordinator.
Trainers will need to administer the pre assessment (pink sheets) prior to the
start of their training. Allow about 5 minutes for the pre assessment.
Participants must identify a number, name, or symbol that they will be able to
recall. The number, name, or symbol will need to be used for the post
assessment as well.
Trainers need to strongly discourage participants from using personal
information such as social security numbers, etc.
Trainers will be responsible for collecting the pre assessments after
administering them.
37
Pre/Post Assessment Process
for Trainers
O Post-Assessments
O
O
O
O
O
O
Upon completion of the training, the trainers will need to administer the
post assessment (blue sheets). Allow about 5 minutes for the post
assessment.
Again, trainers must have participants use the same number, name, or
symbol they used for the pre assessment.
In order to assess if there was any type of knowledge gained by the
participant, NFSMI must be able to match up the pre assessment with
the participant’s post assessment.
Trainers will be responsible for collecting the post assessments after
administering them.
Trainers will need to send all pre and post assessments back to NFSMI
when they submit their trainer’s report.
NFSMI will match up the participants’ pre and post assessments and
then score each assessment. The data will be entered into a statistical
software program to determine if there is a statistically significant
difference in the average pre assessment and the average post
assessment scores.
