NB This is a non-credit bearing exam

• You do not have the 24 NQF 4 insurance
credits, or ICiBS
• But, you must have Matric/Senior Certificate
– (ie may study at UNISA’s CBM)

New Student now has a choice:
• Do CoP and ICiBS, or similar
– then come to UNISA
• or Sit the Admission Test/Exam
– start with UNISA immediately

• Up to three module entries allowed
≥ 4 subjects need approval, and subject to past
academic performance portfolio, non full-time
employment, etc
• Examination sub-minimum required for
awarding of supplementary exam
– Possibly 30% in 2007
– and 45% in 2008
• Aegrotat and Special Exams application
≤ ten days of exam date

– (Normally allowed to do first subject in NQF 6 in

– Need to prove at least 80% coverage of syllabus
• Withdrawal from Programme % of Fees
forfeited
• Deferral of subjects to next year allowed
– once only - no refund – credit Student Account

– Two-year programme
• Dissertation would still be a requirement

UNISA Duration of Programme/Module
Annual Programme
• Allows students to enrol/register annually

• Programme officially starts on 01 March
• Examinations annually in October/November
• Supplementary examinations in May

student must apply for re-registration at full
fees and possibly new study material.

Study and Exam Preparation
• Programmes designed to require ± 130 to 150 hrs of
study per module
– ie assumed ± 90 - 110 hrs prior knowledge/experience
• Over six months = 5 - 6 hours @ week per module
• Compulsory assignment 2 months prior to exams
• Compulsory assignment = 10% of year mark
