 A Program of Work is a plan of future activities or
objectives of a chamber of commerce for a given period,
usually one year, coinciding with the administrative year of
the organization.
 Building a community requires many activities. Deciding
which of these can be undertaken in any given year,
organizing to accomplish them and managing their progress
toward completion can only be done by a Program Work!
-The Game Plan for the year
-Short term implementation
leading to fulfillment of longterm goals
- It is a guide—gives direction
of where you are heading
- It is a tool—measuring stick
for annual performance, focal
point for activities, allows you
to say NO!

Development starts with the Board Retreat



Focus
Clear goals and direction for staff
Alignment with the strategic plan
A solid tool for performance measurement



Great teams (and boards) are not born they are
created and you are the coach
The strategic plan is a longer term process that
leads you toward the ideal
The program of work is a specific short-term
annual plan that guides activities, gives
direction, and maintains focus
