PUR Purge/Clean 101
• Types of PUR purge
1. Flush - EVA type hot melts that push out PUR
2. Reactive – These special materials “kill” the cross linker in PUR
3. Cleaner - Removes char and cured PUR within a PUR system
• Henkel purge and cleaning products are unique and provide
the following
1. Reactive – “killing” the cross link process in PURHMs on platens
and in pumping systems
2. Clean PURHM tank melt systems of cured adhesive
3. Clean PURHM platen systems of cure adhesive
4. Extend the life of PUR pumps, hoses and applicators

• Cleaner 4 has the following features:

cleaning
Blue in color for easy identification
Supplied in bags (pellets) and drums
• Can be layered on top of partial used
drum/pail of molten PUR. The residual
heat will melt Cleaner 4 creating a
moisture barrier. To reuse the drum/pail
just purge until all blue Cleaner 4 is
through the system.

Purmelt Cleaner 7
• This product is designed specifically
for roll coater applications
• Pour this liquid onto the rollers and
let dwell for 30 minutes @ 165C
• Cleaner 7 will clean cured PUR off
the rollers and condition them to
extend their life

Purmelt ME Cleaner
• This cleaning oil is suited for
cleaning melt tanks and hoses
through recirculation
• Removes cured, non-cured, and
char residue of traditional hot melts
and PUR
• Dwell time of 60+ minutes at 120175° C
• Can be used in a “fryer” type
cleaning tank to remove cured PUR
from nozzle parts, etc
