Begin with Phase 2 when all the class are able to orally blend and segment

Phonics is taught as a whole class with additional catch - up sessions for new
arrivals

The Offer and Funding
• Core 2 schools have now been selected.
• Schools who applied for core 2 and who were
not selected will be offered Universal training
• We have the capacity to support 10
additional schools in the Universal
programme
• Work is underway to allow us to spread some
the messages more rapidly.
• All training will be funded by WIT

Application Process
• Schools will be sent a letter and audit form. Those wishing
to apply for universal will need to complete and return
this.
