Purpose of a Career Portfolio

    Personal Development Job Search Skills Career Exploration Further studies and training  Types of portfolios  Most common use is in the area of career exploration (skills, abilities, and talents). It helps with successful transitions from school to work, or further training or education.

Purpose:

    Personal Development  Skills, Abilities Career Exploration  Education, Schools, Occupations Employment Opportunities  Resume, Interview Other  scholarships

Steps involved in developing a Career Portfolio

    Step1: Collect  Gather as much information as possible from a variety of sources Step 2: Select  Relevance, what is important to you, think about why you want to include certain items, do them demonstrate your learning, skills or abilities Step 3: Reflect  Explanation, justification, proof, etc.

Step 4: Present  Interview in Grade 11

Remember: Each grade at Vanier Collegiate has a portfolio requirement
