Student Expectations

  ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ VA Compulsory Attendance Laws 6 unexcused = Attendance Contract 7 unexcused = Truancy Referral to Juvenile Intake Classroom 2+ unexcused = 69 grade.

Must be present for 50% of class (45 min)  Excessive tardiness to school/class will not be tolerated.

 Phones are allowed in the building during non instructional time. In the classroom, cell phones are only allowed during instruction as directed by the teacher.

 ◦ Disrespect or defiance of staff members will not be tolerated.

Violations will warrant an out of school suspension.

Disciplinary sanctions will be harsh.

 ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ Students’ dress/appearance shall not disrupt or distract students from the educational process.

Clothing representing or displaying drugs, alcohol, or gangs will not be allowed. Shorts, dresses, and/or skirts cannot be more than five inches above the knee.
