Enterprise asset management (EAM) means the whole life optimal management of the physical assets of an organization to maximize value. It covers such things as the design, construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance and decommissioning/replacement of plant, equipment and facilities. "Enterprise" refers to the management of the assets across departments, locations, facilities and, in some cases, business units. By managing assets across the facility, organizations can improve utilization and performance, reduce capital costs, reduce asset-related operating costs, extend asset life and subsequently improve ROA (return on assets). 3 Copyright © 2001-2007 Infor Global Solutions Why Infor EAM? Life Extension - Life-cycle extension of an asset is the amount of time that an asset can be extended beyond the projected life expectancy. Capacity Factor - The capacity factor of a manufacturing facility is the amount of product that it produces over a period of time, divided by the amount of product it could have produced if it had run at full capacity over that time period. Equivalent Availability - The availability factor of a manufacturing facility is the amount of time that it is able to produce product over a certain period, divided by the amount of the time in the period. Quality - The quality factor of a manufacturing facility is the amount of product produced per unit consumed divided by the product produced utilizing 100% of the input. … these 4 factors directly impact expense and net income! 4 Copyright © 2001-2007 Infor Global Solutions Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) “World Class” Asset Performance Management (APM) APM Factors 5 World Class Availability 90.0% Capacity 95.0% Quality 99.9% Overall OEE 85.0% Copyright © 2001-2007 Infor Global Solutions Moving To Asset Performance Management (APM) 6 Copyright © 2001-2007 Infor Global Solutions CMMS 1980 CMMS Computerized Maintenance Management 7 Copyright © 2001-2007 Infor Global Solutions EAM 1980 1994 CMMS EAM Enterprise Asset Management 8 Copyright © 2001-2007 Infor Global Solutions APM 1980 1994 2007 CMMS EAM APM Asset Performance Management 9 Copyright © 2001-2007 Infor Global Solutions Operating Loss Categories Breakdowns Setup and Adjustments Small Stops Reduced Speeds Startup Rejects Production Rejects Impact Availability Loss Availability Loss Capacity Loss Capacity Loss Quality Loss Quality Loss Cause • Tooling Failures • Unplanned Maintenance • General Breakdowns • Equipment Failure • Setup/Changeover • Material Shortages • Operator Shortages • Major Adjustments • Warm-Up Time • Obstructed Product Flow • Component Jams • Misfeeds • Sensor Blocked • Delivery Blocked • Cleaning/Checking • Rough Running • Under Nameplate Capacity • Under Design Capacity • Equipment Wear • Operator Inefficiency • Scrap • Rework • In-Process Damage • In-Process Expiration • Incorrect Assembly • Scrap • Rework • In-Process Damage • In-Process Expiration • Incorrect Assembly CMMS EAM APM Infor non-EAM capability Infor non-EAM capability ABC Metals INPUT OUTPUT Units Produced WASTE Design Capacity Schedule Units Rejected Downtime … Infor EAM Opportunity: Manage assets to increase Availability, Performance, and Quality to attain World Class standards Asset Management Challenges Improve asset performance to reduce downtime Extend asset life to avoid new capital purchases Schedule preventive maintenance to prevent problems Track equipment according to regulatory guidelines Implement capital-saving processes such as warranty management and streamlined purchasing 12 Copyright © 2001-2007 Infor Global Solutions Infor EAM Footprint IT Assets Manufacturing Fleet & Transportation Roadways & Pipelines Geo-Spatial Assets Buildings & Facilities EAM Solution Footprint Performance Analytics Databridge Labor Management Purchasing Preventative Maintenance MRO E-Catalog Condition Monitoring 13 Copyright © 2001-2007 Infor Global Solutions Work Management Service Requests Material Management ERP Financials Mobile Basic Business Integration Scenario Infor EAM XA ERP Create EAM Requisition Approve EAM Requisition Requisitions EAM Requisition Copy Create Purchase Order Parts Requirements Parts Inventory Maintenance Book Labor Purchase Order Copy Purchase Order Approve Purchase Order Receiving Items Receiving Report Item Receipt Record Invoice Copy 14 Copyright © 2001-2007 Infor Global Solutions Invoices (Optional) Accounts Payables Purchasing Accounts Payables General Ledger Infor EAM Feature Overview 15 Copyright © 2001-2007 Infor Global Solutions Asset Management Track history and detail cost tracking Asset hierarchy with attached documents and drawings Serialized inventory Unlimited userdefined fields Set up preventive maintenance schedules Warranty claim tracking 16 Copyright © 2001-2007 Infor Global Solutions Work Orders Create work orders for single or multiple pieces of equipment Assign priority and problem codes Create based on standard work orders Attach documents and pictures Capture complete internal and external costs 17 Copyright © 2001-2007 Infor Global Solutions Preventive Maintenance Attach activities, resources, and material lists Time-based and/or meter-based preventive maintenance Ability to “nest” preventive maintenance schedules Preventive maintenance routes Assign multiple equipment to a preventive maintenance schedule Create inspections and record results 18 Copyright © 2001-2007 Infor Global Solutions Purchasing Integrated with work order functions to do “on-the-fly” requisitioning Customizable purchasing approval flow Ability to order parts or services Blanket purchase orders Purchase order receiving and supplier returns Support for e-record and esignature Support for iProcure 19 Copyright © 2001-2007 Infor Global Solutions Proven Largest installed base of a solution in its class Listed in the Leaders Quadrant in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Asset Management, 1H06 Wide market acceptance Measurable ROI Its functionality and technology remain as robust as ever.
