KAA: Background

Established in 1991 by an Act of Parliament, the KAA Act
Provides and manages aviation infrastructure, facilities and
services.
Manages:
- 4 IA- Nairobi, Moi, Eldoret and Kisumu ;
- 4 DA- Wilson, Malindi, Lokichoggio and Wajir; and
- 6 AS- Ukunda, Manda, Kitale, Garissa, Lodwar, Kakamega.
Nairobi Airport- flagship facility
- Main gateway in the East & Central Africa region,
- Currently serves over 30 scheduled airlines,
- Catchment area: EU, the ME, the FE and African Region,
- Accounts for about 75% of national aviation traffic and
- Among the busiest airports in Africa w.r.t. pax (cargo) traffic
