 DH funding £2.4m yrs 1 & 2 (2006 – 2008)
 DCC/NHS Dorset funding - £1.28m yrs 3 & 4 (2008 –
2010) and £800,000 p.a. (2010 – 2013)
The Vision:
 Build supportive neighbourhoods for older people
 Seek transitional change to existing ways of working
 Focus on prevention, health, well-being, and
independence
The Demographics:
 Older People aged 50+ living in Dorset excluding
Bournemouth and Poole (179,000+)
