Leadership Academy Purpose

• General leadership training to use in your chapter and your organization • Ideas on how to run your chapter • Voting for the COD and CPC reps • Networking opportunities galore!

Chapter Presidents’ Council (CPC)

• Composition – All Chapter Presidents – Ex-officio non-voting representatives • Selects members of the Committee on Directorship (COD) • Elects a representative to the AFP Board • Forum for networking, feedback, dialogue and identification of issues

Committee on Directorship (COD)

• Composition of COD – 1 member and alternate elected for each of the 12 districts – 4 ex-officio members – 2 COD Chair appointees • Role of COD – Evaluates all nominees for the AFP Board – Creates slate of District and At-large Directors to be elected by the members

AFP International Board of Directors

• 12 District members • 10 At-large members • 10 Officers • 2 Chair appointees • 1 At-large member chosen by CPC • 1 Ex-officio member

• Review the COD materials and candidates for your district • Review the CPC candidates • Download any handouts or presentations you’ll want onsite • Contact attendees to get a jump start on your networking

• Attend all required meetings • Share your experiences • Learn from others • Exchange contact info with other chapter leaders • Have fun!

Back at the Chapter

• Share your experience with the board chapter members – Newsletter article – Report back at the next meeting • Review plans for 2014 attendance and beyond • Keep up those connections!
