What are smart materials?
Smart materials are substances that can sense and respond to
any changes in their environment
in a way that is reliable, predictable
and useful.
Smart materials can have their
properties dramatically altered in a
way that normal materials cannot.
Through scientific research and
development, the potential of these
materials is now greater than ever.
Can you think of any different types of
material that respond to changes in
their environment?
