What is IOP?

 The application of psychological principles to the workplace (anywhere people work)  About helping people do their jobs by :   improving the performance and well-being . identifies how behaviors and attitudes can be improved through hiring practices, training programs, and feedback systems

IOP is...

 the scientific study of the relationship between man and the world of work.

 the application or extension of psychological facts and principles to the problems concerning human beings operating within the context of business and industry.

Personnel Psychology

  I/O personnel psychologists work with the Human Resource.

In areas such as:  Recruitment  Analyzing jobs  Determining salary levels  Training employees  Evaluating employees' performance

 I/O Personnel Psychologist :  Choose existing tests or create new ones to select or promote employees.

 Tests are constantly evaluated to ensure validity and fairness .

 I/O Psychologists examine various methods to be used to train and develop employees:  Identify training needs  Develop programs  Evaluate training success
