Information Operations Joint
Management Office (IO JMO)
♦ We are a supporting activity!
♦ IO JMO mission: Develop & implement supporting capabilities for the advancement of IO as a
core competency
♦ Day-to-day management activities associated with Program Management & Lead Component
responsibilities for IO Range & VisIOn
♦ Staff is a mix of acquisition professionals, warfighters, IO SMEs, trainers, & testers
IO Range mission:
Create a flexible, seamless and
persistent environment that allows
COCOMs to achieve the same level of
confidence and expertise in employing
IO capabilities that they have in kinetic weapons
IO RANGE construct:
• Provides Standing infrastructure to support execution of
chartered events at all security levels
• Type 1 encryption creates a closed loop network to
mitigate risks associated with developing, assessing,
testing, or exercising emerging & mature IO capabilities
• Type 3 encryption creates VPNs within Type 1 backbone to
support secure customer events
• Implemented processes to streamline event approval
process; customer requirement-based agreements; short
and long term Interconnection Security Agreements (ISA)
• The IO Range Operations Center (IOROC) at JWFC
provides a centralized management, security and
coordination point for the distributed IO Range
VisIOn mission:
Provide an integrated and synchronized
IO analysis, planning and assessment
capability that meets operational
requirements
VisIOn construct:
• Provides a collaborative environment to support analysis,
planning and assessment capabilities
• Facilitates timely planning, assessment, and integration
of IO capabilities
• Employ tailored expertise from DoD, the Services,
Agencies, academia, industry and coalition partners
• Leverages existing processes and capabilities
• Uses best practices - YOURS
• Warfighters are able to leverage the VISION environment
and tailor it to meet mission-specific requirements
• Uses a requirements-based way of operating—way ahead
depends on your guidance and requirements

IO Planning and VisIOn
● Problem
 Lack of standardized capability to conduct IO analysis, planning and
assessment
 Limited collaboration inhibits IO planners’ ability to integrate and
optimize non-lethal effects
 Limited access to community-wide pool of subject matter experts, IO
tools and processes
● Solution
 Virtual Integrated Support for the Information Operations Environment
(VisIOn) program to address community-wide IO deficiencies
 Partnering opportunities through VisIOn’s collaborative environment
offers planners persistent access to IO information and IO Community
of Interest
 VisIOn merges people, processes and technology to provide a
comprehensive collaborative environment
