information.
• Use your body paragraphs to dictate what you want to
prepare your reader for.
• Make sure your intro includes a
description/reference/explanation to the coming-of-age
scene you have chosen.

• First outline the points you made by giving a one sentence
overview of each body paragraph.
• Make sure you reiterate how these points show the theme.
• Close by discussing the broader, more universal impact of
this book.
• For example, if your introduction mentions the historical impact
of the text, the conclusion is a good place to expand on that
idea in a few sentences.
