Front End 1 Front End 12 Front End 13 Front End 14 Purdue University Organization RUS/ADC Exchange 5.5 Servers Move Mailboxes Public Folders Computing Services 5 How is this done? Users will have to log in to Exchange separately via their 2003 AD Account • Machine change - this requires authentication method to be changed on Outlook client and an optional regedit to populate Domain Name and User Name Exchange becomes a “hosted” environment Computing Services 6 How is this done? Password for AD Account will be synched with current Novell/NT4.0 account password • Career Account password will remain what it is currently until the first time that AD account password is changed. Then, password will be synched back up to Career Account via ACMaint. • Changing Career Account password via another source (i.e. Directory) will synch AD account password post-migration. Computing Services 7 How is this done? User Initiated Password Change Career Account Novell/NT4.0 Exchange Migration Active Directory User Initiated Password Change Computing Services 8 How is this done? Process Changes • All mailbox, public folder, dist list, resource related processes will not be changed as a part of this migration. • The same website and email address will be used to make these requests. Computing Services 9 What does this mean? This has no affect on the migration off of Novell. • All file and print services remain the same. All of the changes made are reversible (except for adding Exchange 5.5 back into the environment.) Computing Services 10
