 Latvia:
 area - 64,589 km2;
 population - 2,366 thousand people.
 Administration
 The territory of Latvia is divided into 26 districts and 7 cities of
state importance.
 There are 70 towns and around 470 rural municipalities in the
districts.
Waste management in Latvia -II
 Solid waste generation - about 1,342,000 t/year,
including:
 municipal waste: about 650,000 ton/year
 demolition waste: about 125,000 ton/year
 non-hazardous industrial waste: about 475,000
ton/year, including 260,000 t wooden waste
 hazardous industrial waste: about 67,000 ton/year
 health care waste: about 2,000 ton/year


Reuse / recycling 




packaging waste 150,000 t/year;
wooden waste - 140,00 ton/year,
demolition waste 40,000 ton/year;
