VT Email Time Stamp - Limited or No Cellular Coverage
When a fault notification is emailed, the timestamp of the actual event is included in the VT email subject line and is
noted in Pacific Time. This is important to know especially if you are in the Eastern Time Zone. If in the Eastern
Time Zone, it appears the email is sent three hours late. If in the Pacific Time zone, the subject line time and the
received time will only differ from the amount of time it took for the fault notification to be sent (approx. 2-4 min in
good cellular coverage).
• Here’s an example: This is an email that was received by a
Customer located in the Eastern Time Zone. At first
glance, it appears this email was sent 3 hours and 3
minutes after the fault occurred. In reality, the email was
sent 3 minutes after the fault occurred. The time stamp is
in Pacific Time.
Limited or no Cellular Coverage:
If a truck travels into an area that
does not have cell coverage, emails
will be delayed until the truck
moves into a cell coverage area.
If 48 hours has passed since
the fault occurred, no email
notification will be sent when
moving back to a cell coverage
area. These faults can be viewed
on the VT Website through
AccessFreightliner.
