Purpose
To provide Hillsborough County with a uniform approach to achieving
equal employment opportunity
History
1st AA Plan - 1977
2008-2012 County-Wide Affirmative Action Plan is the 7th Revision
Approved by BOCC on July 17, 2008
Applies to all 22 County government agencies under Civil Service System

Results of Utilization & Adverse Impact Analysis
2006-2008
The number of Classified FTE has decreased from 154 to 137
No New Hires
Percentage of Minorities and Women has increased or remained constant:
Blacks – Increased from about 9% to 14%
Women- Increased from 42% to 47%
Hispanics – Remained constant around 12%
Asian/Pacific Islanders– Remained constant around 4%

Continuing AAs to Promote EEO
& Diversity
Continue to implement the EAAs listed in the AA Plan
Continue to ensure that minimum qualifications for Agency jobs are
derived from job-related knowledges, skills, and abilities, which are
derived from essential job duties.
