 Mr. Powers thinks that “race as one factor in an overall holistic view of the candidate” helps the university build a diverse campus, an achievement which has “an educational value for all of our students  Mr. Graglia thinks “lowering standards to admit members of preferred groups is a bad idea”.

 Black students who take challenging courses in college often drop out and those who go to law school often fail their bar exam  Texas banned race-conscious entries of colleges and found that the results for Hispanic or African Americans entry was the same or greater to when they did not ban race conscious entries  Mr. Taylor and Mr. Sander think that instead of looking at race, they need to find the poor students who stand out and are very academically smart.  Take them over looking for the diversity balance

    What are your thoughts on affirmative action?

Do you think it’s worth continuing to spend money on scholarships and take enrollment of minorities who, in some cases, are not academically capable to perform at those schools? If so, why?

If affirmative action was banned, what would happen to the economy and those people who would no longer be admitted? Should we be concerned with them falling back into poverty?

What do you think about basing admission off socio economic status versus race?
