HOW IB MATH SL SCORES ARE DETERMINED
• Marks are awarded for steps progressing toward the solution
• This means that students do need to get the right answer, or even finish the
problem to earn points on IB exam questions!
• This also means that they must show their work at every step of the question.
They may not earn full marks for a correct answer if they don’t show all the
work.
