 The Department of the Pacific (DoP) 1920 to 1960:  Regional jurisdiction over west coast Marine Corps bases, posts, depots, offices and other organizations.  Major functions : Administration and Services.

 Jurisdiction did not include Training Command or FMF.

 Lineage and Awards transferred to MCIWEST  21 October 2005 Activation Ceremony  American Defense Service Streamer; American Campaign Streamer; WWII Victory Streamer; National Defense Service Streamer.

Vision

Marine Corps Installations West (MCIWEST) will provide the Operating Forces and tenant commands with the highest quality of continuous, effective service and support to meet present and anticipate future joint and expeditionary warfare requirements.

Marine Corps Installations West (MCIWEST) implements policies, develops regional strategies and plans, prioritizes resources and provides services, direction and oversight through command of assigned U. S. Marine Corps Installations in order to support the Operating Forces, tenant commands and activities.
