Proper Nouns
• A proper noun names a specific person, place,
thing or idea.
• Begin a proper noun with a capital letter, and
capitalize each important word.
• Examples:

Plural Nouns
Rule
Add –s to most singular nouns.
bell = bells
book = books

Add –es to nouns that end in s, sh, ch, x, and z.
lunch = lunches
dish = dishes

For nouns ending in a consonant + y, change
the y to an I and add es.
baby = babies
penny = pennies
candy = candies

boy + s = boys
monkey + s = monkeys

to v and add es or s.
