Thailand’s higher education under the Commission on Higher Education, Ministry of
Education, Thailand has to carry out missions under an e-Education strategy in the
second phase of the Information Technology Policy of Thailand or IT 2010 (B.E. 25442553) and the National Education Plan (B.E. 2545-2559).

Office of the Higher Education Commission’s Policy
According to the 15-Year Long term Plan on Higher Education,
OHEC has formulated strategies on developing education by
focusing on using Information and Communication Technology
(ICT) to:
1. Reduce the gap between basic education, vocational
education and higher.
2. Develop educational infrastructure to prepare for
lifelong learning society.

The Second 15-Year Long term Plan on Higher Education
• Increase
the university’s role in enhancing the
competitiveness of the country by supporting resources and
environment that support the research.
• Develop higher education system to prepare Thailand for
ASEAN.
• Develop and design courses in every faculty and department
to create the awareness of ASEAN.

Information and Communication Technology
• During the past few decades, ICT has changed people life,
work, and behavior.
• ICT was an important tools that make ‘globalization’
possible and both has the effect on each other and dominate
other on some occasions.
• ICT is both opportunity and treat for economics, society,
environment, politics, etc.
• Younger people has better ICT skill than the elderly.
