hero in the Trojan

Homer told these
tales in the Iliad,
which is a war epic
The Trojan War
This
war was the Greeks vs. the
Trojans
It lasted 10 years
Odysseus was the hero when he
helped the Greeks with the
Wooden Horse Trick
The Wooden Horse Trick
The Greeks told the
Trojans they were
going to surrender
As a peace gesture,
they presented the
city with a giant
wooden horse
The Trojans brought it
into their city
The Wooden Horse Trick
The
Greeks were actually hiding
inside the horse
They waited there until night
when the citizens of Troy went to
sleep
They came out of the horse and
burned the city to the ground

Where The Odyssey Picks Up
The Odyssey is a journey epic (“Odyssey”
means journey)
This epic details Odysseus’ long trip home
and the problems he encounters

It will take him 10

So he will have been
gone a total of 20
years when he finally
returns!

He is physically strong
He is very determined and has a lot
of will power
