Connect Cyprus 2. Modernize public administration and provide public electronic services 3. Inclusion of all (including vulnerable groups) into digital Cyprus 4. Education and Learning 5. Digital Entrepreneurship 6. ICT for the environment • Annual Action Plan • Annual Progress Report • Includes the actions of the Digital Strategy, to be implemented over the next three years with • Timeline • Budget • Responsible implementing agency • The Action Plan for the period 2015-2017 will be submitted to the Council of Ministers of Cyprus for approval. • The Action Plan is an ex-ante condition for financing from EU funds over the programming period 2014-2020. • Will be published on the website: "Digital Cyprus" • Includes: – The progress and assessment of the existing actions included in the strategy, – The new measures and actions which will be included in the strategy. • The Progress Report for 2012 was approved by the Minister of Communications and Works on 23/08/2013. • Published on the website: "Digital Cyprus" – Public (online) availability of information held by the Government. • Exploitation of Public Sector Information (PSI) for fostering entrepreneurship through the practical application of Directive 2003/98/EC on the reuse of public sector information (PSI). – Department of Public Administration and Personnel – Plans include the establishment of the following during the period 2014-2015: • A National Open Data Portal • An authorization and costing mechanism • Activities to promote the use of PSI. – According to recent studies by the European Commission it is estimated that the free availability of public information from 28 EU MS could lead to direct and indirect benefits of around € 200 billion/ annually, doubling the productivity of local authorities and promoting innovation and research. – Therefore, the use of PSI is an important tool that can contribute to economic growth enhancing the competitiveness of the economy, attracting investors and creating new jobs.
