U.S. government bailed them out by
transferring about $500 billion from
U.S. taxpayers to a select group of

The industry was deregulated under the Reagan/Bush administration and restrictions
were eased on the industry so much that abuse and misuse of funds became easy,
rampant, and went unchecked. Each of the Bush family benefited from this payout.
