ATC
Minimum 1 year of work experience
Completed ACI training
Provides formal instruction and evaluation
of clinical proficiencies
Provides direct supervision of students
CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR (CI)
ATC or other healthcare professional
Minimum 1 year of work experience
Teaches, evaluates, and supervises students
in field experiences
NO formal evaluation of clinical
proficiencies
ATHLETIC TRAINING
STUDENT (ATS)
Student enrolled in a CAAHEP accredited
entry-level Athletic Training Education
Program
CLINICAL EDUCATION
Students’ formal acquisition, practice, and
evaluation of clinical proficiencies
Concurrent clinical education
