Student Strength The EC department is continuously growing and now we have a strength of 437students including I and II semester and M.tech. Our faculties ABOUT OUR FACULTIES Three faculties Ms. Jacquiline Jaison, Ms Anuros Thomas K , Ms. Sneha Paul joined the ECE department during this semester Ms. Malini Thomas went on maternity leave Ms. Jeenu Jose left the College on 11th Oct. 2013 to join her husband Our Total Faculty strength today is 18 We have two lab assistants in the department at present DEPARTMENT UPDATES Purchases for Labs We have purchased HW kits for embedded systems lab worth Rs. 64000/We have purchased Xilinx ISE software for Rs. 100000/tool for VLSI Design for the VII Semester and M. tech programme. PROJECTS AND SEMINARS One of our project teams was selected for the in the Manorama Yuva Master Mind Compettion at Amal Jyothi Engg. College. Guide: Mr. Vishnu Rajan Project Grant Received: Rs. 10,000/- STUDY TOURS 3rd, 5th and 7th semester students completed their Industrial Visit during this semester. The major industries visited are: Keltron, Kuttipurum Keltron TE Unit, Koyilandi HAL, Bangalore Doordarshan Kendra, Kakkanad etc. ASSOCIATION ACTIVITIES EMAGE Conducted 3-hour guest lecture on VLSI Design by Mr. Jean Jacob, IIT Delhi. One- hour talk on “ Lifestyle Diseases and Organ Donation” by Mr. Manohar, Kidney Foundation of India on 26th September, 2013 Conducted Essay competition on “Role of Engineers in Disaster Management” in connection with the World Disaster Day on 10th October 2013 Charity work : The 5th semester ECE – A batch visited “House of Providence”, Old-age home at Irinjalakuda on 14th September, 2013. Conducted activities at the home and donated an amount of Rs 4000/- to the home. The 7th semester ECE – Students visited Abaya Bhavan. Porathiseri on 14th September 2013. OUR STAFF AT THEIR BEST…. TWO of our faculty Mr. Vishnu Rajan and Arunkant Jose got selected for PhD at Jodhpur University, Rajasthan. Ms. Ambili Francis has presented a paper “Illumination Invariant Feature Transform” at the ‘NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON EMERGING TRENDS IN ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY’ held at Younus College of Engineering, Kollam on April 3rd,2013. IN FUTURE … A DSP lab needs to be setup for the 2nd semester of M.Tech The Project lab is not yet operational A dedicated lab for M.Tech students. IN FUTURE WE SHALL…… Try to become the topper in terms of pass percentage in the university Try for an AICTE sponsored Faculty Development Program Have more innovative projects and patents We believe character should be hand in hand with education.
