• Published in 2004
• Currently 3 States (NSW, WA and NT) do
not adopt
• Task to reduce variations has resulted in
50% reduction already
National Construction Code
• First Edition by May 2011
• Preliminary Work has found substantial
improvements and consolidation
• Plumbing must retain its identity
this may be reflected by a Volume 3
Current Emphasis
• Addressing areas of inconsistency
• Removing overlap where practicable and
without causing unintended consequences
in licensing or certification.
