Unemployment
 Unemployed people can register at Labour Office as a
job seeker.
 They are entitled to get unemployment benefits if they
prove 12 months work in last 3 years before submision of
aplication.
 The benefits amount is 50% in first 3 months and 45% for
the remaining months.
 They are entitled to draw the unemployment benefits for 6
months.

Education
 nursery schools for children between 3 and 6 years
of age
 elementary schools: compulsory education lasts 9
years and you can choose between private school and
schools administred by the municipality
 secondary schools: three types – general secondary
school, secondary technical college and
secondary vocational establishments
Universities provide:
 bachelor study programs (3-4 years)
 master´s programs (4-6 years)
 doctoral study for master´s graduates
 studies at public and state universities are free in The
Czech Republic
 private universities provide bachelor programs
Recognition of qualification
Recognition of qualification is necessary if you work in any of
regulated profession.
