knowledge.
Embedding knowledge uptake strategies not obvious for research teams
Support WOTRO-projects: teams are inexperienced but willing.
Active involvement in policy influencing, but with average impact
Policy consultation: Policy brief underlines Platforms’ report outlines, but
due to lack of political feasibility expert advices not adopted elaborately.
Lessons from the Food &
Business Knowledge Platform
Research uptake is not evident for food & nutrition security professionals.

Time
Awareness of relevance
Knowhow on bridging different perspectives of researchers and practitioners from
businesses and governments
→ The Broker method in development to successfully adapt stakeholders to knowledge
processes:
Putting itself in the place of stakeholders
Social knowledge brokering skills, more than being expert or having power yourself
Building links/ Time investment
