for Year 1
Our topic for this half term will be ‘Ourselves’. We are planning to teach this topic through
a cross-curricular, creative approach. The purpose of this topic is so that the children
can find out all about themselves and link their understanding to practical and real life
situations.
Have a go at labelling
the body parts here.
The children will be learning about
their body, senses and how they grow
and change in comparison to other
animals, which will enable them to be
more aware of the world around them.
They will recognise the differences
between animals, including humans. A
strong emphasis will be put upon how
to keep our bodies healthy, such as
looking after our teeth, eating and
drinking healthily.
