1) Project for modernization of
level crossing equipment
a) Installation of half barriers to
existing warning lights
1) Project for modernization of
level crossing equipment
b) Replacement
of existing
bulb optics by
LED optics
1) Project for modernization of
level crossing equipment
c) Installation of new level crossing
protecting systems (warning lights,
half barriers)
Time schedule:
As first step, installations and
modifications are foreseen at 44 sites.
(These installations and modifications
has been prepared in 2009, but this
project was cancelled because of lack of
financial resources.)
Public procurement documentation is
available.
(Tender is launched on 23. 01. 2013.)
To be realized in current tender
• Installation of LED optics at 5 level
crossings
• Installation of half barriers at 4 level
crossings
• Installation of half barriers and LED optics
at 31 level crossings
• Installation of new level crossing protecting
systems at 4 level crossings
Further steps
Two additional tenders will be prepared for
the modernization of further 128 sites.
(These sites are appointed by MÁV,
National Transport Authority and
National Accident Prevention Agency.)
2) Project for modernization of train
detection
Problem:
In some cases train detection with track
circuit does not operate properly.
The causes are:
• ballast impedance is getting worse,
• pollution of rail head
– leaves on the rail head
– rust (in case of low density train traffic)
– throw-off the freight on the rail
Aim of the project
• Modernization works will be carried out
on 53 sites
• The reliability of train detection must be
increased mostly with the use of axle
counter systems
Time schedule
• As first stage the tender for designing will be
announced. The winner must design the new
preliminary plan, the required cabling works
and at some marked LCs the circuit diagrams,
and the tender documentation must be put
together. The announcement for the design
tender is expected in March 2013.
• In the second stage the tender for construction
works will be started based on the documents
created in the design tender.
3)Project for installation of cameras for
supervision of level crossing area
• Installation of cameras for supervision
of level crossing area in order to force
the drivers to observe the rules
• Pictures of vehicles breaking the
barriers are taken and stored in special
format for police evaluation purposes
• Planned for 99 level crossings
Camera field of view
Time schedule
• The public procurement process
includes the installation of the camera
systems and the required modifications
of the level crossing equipments
• Contract is expected to be signed in the
first half of 2013
