What magic did we see that related to this sign? Billy Acord – This is a story about Billy who had an accident when cycling. This is the trick from the Road Show that you can learn and show your friends. Both traffic light tricks – Cyclist need to be aware of traffic lights and their meanings. What magic did we see that related to this sign? Arthur the footballer – This is a story about Arthur and his accident. Was it because he had a dark jumper on, did this help, or was it because he just run across the road without looking or thinking? Magic Washing – Wearing something bright does not mean you have to wear fluorescent clothing you can wear reflective tags or armbands as well as a scarf or hat. Next time you buy a school bag buy a bright one that can be seen at night. What magic did we see that related to this sign? Unequal Ropes – This is a story about Isabel who cut up her skipping rope to remember the safe way to cross the road. Know your crossings – Crossings are the safest places to cross the road. Traffic Light surprise – Traffic lights and crossings are by far the safest places to cross the road. Discussion Points •Why is it important to always remember to Stop, Look, Listen and Think before you cross a road? •Why do you think children are more at risk than adults when crossing roads? •What influence does playing music or talking on phones have to the number of children killed or injured on our roads? Know your Crossings– This trick showed that each type of crossing is named after an animal. Different crossings work in different ways you should get to know how different crossings work and how you can best use them. Lollipop Lady – The school Crossing Patrol person runs your school crossing you should always do as they say. When they are not there they are usually replaced by a policeman who then runs the crossing. Unequal Ropes – This is a reminder to still Stop, Look, Listen and Think even on crossings. Cars do not always obey traffic lights or the rules of the road, and that’s when accidents occur. The most important part of this trick was when granny's car disappeared and the statistics of the number of children killed or injured on our roads last year were shown.
