OFFENSE
1. The offensive team goal is to score a touchdown
2. The offensive team has four downs to score a touchdown or get a first down.
3. The offense must complete two passes past the line of scrimmage to get a first
down.
4. All offensive players are eligible to catch a pass except the quarterback.
5. The quarterback gets the ball hiked to him from the center to must try and
throw the football to a receiver.

Ending a Play in Flag Football
The play ends when one of the following occurs:
1. Someone pulls your flag off
2. Your flag falls off
3. You step out of bounds
4. The ball is fumbled
5. A pass is incomplete
6. A touchdown is scored

SCORING in FLAG FOOTBALL
1. In regular football a touchdown is worth six points and your get a chance to try
for a point after touchdown (PAT)
2. In gym football a touchdown is worth one point and you do not get a chance to
try for a PAT
3. The offense scores a point by throwing a completed pass across the defending
team’s goal line.
4. The defense can score a touchdown by intercepting a pass and running into the
opposite end zone from where the offense is trying to score.
OFFICIALS
1.
The referee is in charge of running the game.
2.
The referee is the one who determines if the ball has been caught or not.
3.
The referee is the one who enforces all penalties.
4.
The referee determines whether a team gets a touchdown or a first down.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1. The Center will hike the ball to Quarterback to start the play.
2. Line of Scrimmage: Invisible horizontal line that runs the length of the
football and the width of the field. It is where the ball is placed before the
start of each play.
3. Downs – Attempts to move the football closer to the other team’s goal line.
4. Rushing – Going after the Quarterback’s flag.
5. Interception – When the football is thrown by the quarterback and the
defensive team catches the ball.
6. End Zone – The area the team with the football is trying to go to score a
touchdown
