CALPADS to TIDE
Importance of CALPADS
5
•
CALPADS is the sole source for student enrollment, demographic,
and program participation data for the student registration system
known as the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE).
•
All updates must be made in CALPADS. LEAs cannot update
student demographic data in TIDE.
•
Student accommodations and designated supports are not
collected in CALPADS.
•
Student accommodations and supports cannot be uploaded by
the LEA until CALPADS data is available in TIDE. (e.g., new
enrollments must be uploaded to TIDE prior to accommodations
for the newly enrolled student.)
•
Processing time from CALPADS to TIDE is within 48 hours.

CALPADS to TIDE

What is CALPADS sending to TIDE?
–
CALPADS sends all open enrollments with Enrollment Status = 10
or 30, for Grades 3-8, 11, and select schools for Grades 9 & 10.


7
Concurrent Enrollments (CCEs) – the record with the most recent
enrollment will be sent to TIDE.
Short Term enrollments: need to exit students
–
The following slides will show a mapping from the Smarter
Balanced expected fields to the CALPADS field element that is
used to populate and/or derive the information.
–
NOTE: Independently Testing Charters are NOT the same as
Independently Reporting Charters in CALPADS. Some charters
may be testing differently than how they report to CALPADS.
