What is CTS?
CTS mean “Cheque Truncation System”. Earlier physical instruments used to travel for
clearing to customer bank through RBI. Now with introduction of CTS, Clearing House
(RBI) will send the scan images of instruments to customer bank and there will be no
movement of physical instrument and clearing will happen based on scan images. Hence,
RBI wants that all instruments should be of standard size i.e CTS 2010 format.
