General comparison of Czech research with Western
Europe and USA – still not good enough…
We need to double our production in order to close the
gap with the best EU countries, not necessarily more
papers, but higher impact and more respected = cited
papers
On top of that – CAS/AVCR has to produce at least
double than the best Czech
We want Western standards from SoS, grant agencies, suppliers
etc., but first of all, we shall deliver according to them…

• Big evaluation of the institute
• Animal house construction shall finish in September
• Discussion on who will move there
• Insulation of the building project
• Lower total budget (big projects such as Praemium,
Modbiolin and Bioglobe will terminate)
• 10 US students in summer
• Better scientific production – needed!!!
