Welcome Address
Join us at the 6th Asian Pig Veterinary Society Congress (APVS 2013) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
on September 24-26th , 2013.
With the theme of “Productive Pigs – Satisfied Consumers“, the conference will highlight recent
research and progress in swine production to improve piggery productivity. Come to experience the
presentations and meet other participants interested in the wide range of current topics, such as
complex respiratory diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, reproduction and urinary tract disorders,
advances in artificial insemination, nutrition and immunity, housing and herd management, farm
biosecurity, antibiotic usage and resistance, public health and emerging diseases.
You will also have a great opportunity to explore one of the biggest cities in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh
City and nearby areas. City tours are always available for shopping and sightseeing excursions. The
Notre Dame Cathedral and the 150-year-old zoo are in the city center. The Cu Chi district, with its
hundreds of kilometers of famous man-made tunnels is only 1 hour from the city and the Can Gio
district, only 50 km from the city, offers attractive mangrove forests. A 100 km further to the west the
sacred Ba Den mountain stands along the Vietnam-Cambodian border. To the east are many
delightful beaches, and to the south is the Mekong delta river, a famous area for rice and catfish
production. Everywhere there is an abundance of delicious food made from local ingredients and
natural materials waiting to be enjoyed by our guests.
We are ready to welcome you to Ho Chi Minh City in September 2013 for science and relaxation.
