The system provided very good solids
removal resulting in a reduction of total
suspended solids by 80%, volatile
suspended solids by 67%, chemical oxygen
demand by 59%, and total nitrogen by 54%
 Hay production decreased total nitrogen in
the VTA

Summary



However, disproportionate deposition of runoff
water increases surface soil nitrogen
concentrations near the basin discharge tubes
Elevation shifts of the inlets of the discharge tubes
has caused disproportionate discharge to the VTA
Adding adjustable weir plates to regulate flow on
inlet of discharge tubes is recommended
