ITALIA
In the mid 1960’s the Ca’ del Bosco (house in the woods) estate was born when Anna Maria
Clementi bought a farm and planted vines near Erbusco. As a young man her son, Maurizio Zanella,
traveled to France and returned with the dream of creating a Champagne region for Italy on a smaller scale.
In the gentle hills of Lombardy, the Franciacorta region emerged with its blend of chardonnay, pinot nero,
and pinot bianco vinified as the Champenoise do, with a second fermentation in the bottle. The estate’s
most famous cuvée is the Anna Maria Clementi, named after Maurizio’s mother.

Special Club
The Club Trésors, or Special Club, is made up of 29 of the best grower-producers from the best
areas of Champagne. These producers craft their best vintage examples, and have the wines judged amongst
their peers at several different stages of the wine over many years. There is an extraordinary amount of
work and pride put into these cuvées, and the wines definitely prove that.

Le Tenute Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Grésy, owned by the di Grésy family since 1797, began
producing their own wines in 1973 following a decision by Alberto di Grésy. The four estates
are: Martinenga in the heart of Barbaresco, Monte Aribaldo in Treiso, Cuneo province, La Serra and Monte
Colombo in Cassine, Alessandria province. Grapes from all the estate vineyards are brought to the central
winery at Martinenga to be made into high quality wines with the greatest respect for tradition and nature,
where the aim is to faithfully transfer as much as possible of the identity of the terroir and the varietal into
the bottle.

Barbarescos grapes grow. Highly rated ripe fruit, maniacal attention to winemaking, and new French oak
are some of the reasons the Starderi vineyard deserves careful attention.

Understanding the Bruno Giacosa labels: The grapes that are grown in the winery’s own vineyards
and vinified in their cellars are sold with a label bearing the wording: "Azienda Agricola FALLETTO"– di
Bruno Giacosa. The grapes that are purchased from historical growers but vinified in the estate’s cellars are
sold with the classical label bearing the wording: "Casa Vinicola BRUNO GIACOSA"

The Bruno Rocca winery is located in the cru of Rabajà. It is one of the most historic, famous, and
sought-out crus of Barbaresco. Purchased it in 1958, with its farmhouse of the same name, it is where the
seat of the winery sits today. The vineyard gives top-quality labels that will age for years to come, with
aromas, typicity, and powerful but balanced tannins.

Paolo Scavino is a historical winery founded in 1921 in Castiglione Falletto by Lorenzo Scavino
and his son Paolo. The Scavino family tends to 19 historical Barolo crus located in Castiglione Falletto,
Barolo, La Morra, Serralunga d’Alba, Verduno and Roddi. In 1978 the estate’s Bric del Fiasc was one of
the first single vineyards wines created in Barolo.

Brothers Aldo and Giovanni took over responsibilities of the legendary Giacomo Conterno estate
in 1961, but split ways over slightly different philosophies on the production of Barolo. Poderi Aldo
Conterno was established in 1969. He was considered to be a modernist with traditional techniques. All
single crus spend up to 30 months in large Slavonian barrels and a year in bottle.

Roberto Voerzio manages 21 acres of vineyards in La Morra, an area renowned for producing the
most approachable, supple Barolos. Roberto’s cultivation methods are simple: fertilization is carried out by
hand to address the individual health of each plant, establishing a perfect equilibrium in the vineyard and
allowing for uniform maturation of all vines. High-density planting, a trademark of Voerzio’s vineyard
management, translates into extremely low yields. His wines are considered authentic, near ‘cult’-like
masterpieces, sought after by collectors and wine lovers worldwide.

BAROLO
One of the most respected producers of traditional style Barolo, Bruno Giacosa comes from three
generations of vinaiolo. He did not go to enological school but instead learned his craft by working with
his father and grandfather. In the early 1980’s he bought the Falletto vineyard in Serralunga. Giacosa firmly
believes in the value of single-vineyard bottlings. His crus are only bottled in the better vintages, and if a
wine does not attain a very high standard, he either declassifies it, selling the wine as a simple nebbiolo, or
he does not bottle it at all.

When Giorgio Rivetti started making wine in 1977, he dreamed of one day producing a Barolo.
The opportunity arose some 23 years later when La Spinetta purchased the Campé vineyard in Grinzane
Cavour. The south-facing vineyard was re-vamped by Giorgio who restricted yields by 75%. The vines
are now an average of 50 years old and La Spinetta’s Campé is known for it’s ripe fruit that can be enjoyed
young as well as it’s great aging potential.

Located in the historic centre of Serralunga d’Alba, the wine cellar at Massolino was once very
small, built into the marl below the house that was the birthplace of much of the family. In those times, the
complicated social situation, combined with economic hardship, imposed a complex reality on people, with
a focus on self-sustenance; because of this, crops were diversified, grains and nuts were produced and
Piedmontese cattle were raised. Midway through the 1930s, they relocated to the other side of the only road
that crosses the village of Serralunga, situated on the top of one of the most beautiful hills of the Langhe.

BAROLO
The ultimate and purest expression of Barolo can be found in bottles bearing the Giacomo Conterno
name. In fact, they represent the ideal of traditional Barolo: rich, powerful, massively structured, and
capable of long aging in bottle. These majestic wines descend from a colossal legacy, spanning three
generations of Conternos: Giacomo, Giovanni, and Roberto—in each case, the torch passing from father to
son. Both Giovanni, who forged a reputation as the greatest of all Barolo producers, and now his gifted son,
Roberto, have continued the important work of patriarch Giacomo.

ALTO PIEMONTE
Ninety miles northeast of Alba, hidden at the base of the Italian Alps, is the little-known
winegrowing area of Alto Piemonte. The region, which acquired its name more for its high altitude than for
its relative location to the Langhe (the name literally translates to ‘high Piedmont’), is an Alpine paradise
set amid forest-clad hills on the banks of the Sesia River.

VENETO
East of Lake Garda near the town of the same name, lies the wine region of Valpolicella. No less
than four red wine styles have emerged from the same blend of the indigenous grapes rarely found anywhere
else in Italy, Corvina, Rodinella, and Molinara. Valpolicella is a fresh, lighter style of wine meant to be
drunk young. Amarone di Valpolicella is made from grapes using a method called appassimento. The
grapes are dried for 3 months on straw mats concentrating their flavors and sugar content resulting in a
bigger, bolder wine. Ripasso di Valpolicella is the middle ground between Amarone and the young
Valpolicella. The pressed grapes from Amarone are “refermented” in the young Valpolicella adding body,
extract, and a bit more alcohol. Recioto di Valpolicella is a sweet wine made with the same appassimento
method, but not fermented dry like Amarone.

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO
In 1962, after Italy did away with their sharecropping system, peasant farmer Primo Pacenti
founded Canalicchio di Sopra in Northern Montalcino. The climate is cooler and less affected by the
Mediterranean breeze. Still family-owned and operated, their formula remains the same: ageing the wine
for 36 months in barrel and one year in bottle, allowing these Brunellos to showcase classic aromatics and
dense structure.

Poggio Antico is located about fifty kilometers south of Siena. The earliest written records of the
estate date from the beginning of the 19th century, when the present boundaries were marked. At that time,
the estate consisted of woodland, grassland, and three stone houses. The development of Poggio Antico
started in the late 1970s, when electricity was brought in, vineyards were planted, and construction of the
wine cellar began

that tradition, she decided to start her own estate. Casato Prime Donne is an operation where all vintners
and the winemaker are women and the wines are famous for their elegant, very traditional style.

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO
Giacomo Neri has been at the helm of the estate his father founded since 1991. Casanova di Neri’s
style is distinctly modern with power, concentration, and refined complexity. In recent years, his Brunellos
have received high accolades from the wine press with scores between 95 and 100 points. The pride of the
estate is the Cerretalto vineyard which forms a natural amphitheater overlooking the Asso river. The soils
of Cerretalto have a high percentage of galestro, iron, and magnesium, which give a unique character to
the sangiovese grown there. Thus, Cerretalto is the source of the estate’s single cru bottling. Tenuta Nuova
is known for its potency and finesse, is a blend of two estate vineyards: Le Cetine and Pietradonice.

The Constanti family has been a highly influencial in Tuscany since the creation of the Republic of
Siena in 1555. The family has been making wine for just over 200 years and currently is one of the most
venerable wine producers in Montalcino. Andrea Constanti, took over the family business in 1983 and he is
raising the bar even higher by making classical brunello using modern technicques in the vineyard and in
the winery.

The Uccelliera (Bird’s Nest) estate, is located in the warm southern Castelnuovo dell'Abate, and
was part of the neighboring Ciacci Piccolomini estate until 1986. To produce Brunello and Rosso by
blending vineyards with different exposures and soils is a specific choice so that the character of the terroir
can be expressed following a "minimum handling" philosophy.

The Frescobaldis are a Florentine family that has been devoted to the production of wine for 30
generations. Their inaugural production is documented in the year 1300 at the historic estate of Tenuta di
Castiglioni in Val di Pesa, southwest of Florence. By the beginning of the 1400s, great Renaissance artists
such as Donatello had become faithful clients. A century later, the Frescobaldi wines were served at the
tables of the Papal Court and the English Court of Henry VIII.

From the hills of Montosoli, the Abbruzzese family has evolved stylistically over the years giving
us the most fragrant and structured Valdicava wines yet. Their highly regarded vineyard Madonna del Piano
arguably grows the best fruit in all of Montalcino. Consider intense aromas of white truffle, chestnut,
blueberry pie, fresh violet, even foie gras; all confirmed on the palate adding notes of black fruits, licorice,
mineral, and inky cassis.

CHIANTI
Fontodi has belonged to the Manetti family since 1968. The family has been associated for
centuries with another activity typical of the Chianti region, the production of its famous “terrecotte” tiles.
And it is in the name of this strong link with the territory and a great passion for quality that the estate has
moved successfully towards an ever more attentive cultivation of the vineyards and a more profound
knowledge of the potential of Sangiovese in the zone of Panzano.

SUPER TUSCAN
The innovative decision to plant Cabernet Sauvignon at the Tenuta San Guido estate was partly
due to the similarities its founder, Mario Incisa had noted between Tuscan terrain and that of Graves in
Bordeaux. The name Sassicaia or “the place of many stones” refers to this stony, gravelly soil. The wine
was initially unappreciated by other winemakers and consumers who were accustomed to lighter,
Sangiovese-based wines. It remained a strictly private affair for over twenty years, only to be comercially
released in 1968, when it received a great welcome. Since then it has remained one of the most sought-after
wines in the world.

The Tignanello estate is the home of the renowned Tignanello and Solaia vineyards. It is located
in the heart of the Chianti Classico. The Tignanello estate, which has been in the Antinori family for over
two hundred years, is built on the foundations of an estate that dates back to 1346. Piero Antinori began to
tinker with the traditional Chianti formula and found himself abandoning it altogether in 1971 with the
release of his Tignanello wine. It was, in fact, the first of the modern-day Super Tuscans.

Le Macchiole was one of the first wineries established in the viticultural zone of Bolgheri located
approximately 100 kilometers southwest of Florence along the Etruscan Coast in Tuscany. Leading down the
middle of this zone is the strada San Guido, which is flanked left and right with majestic cypress trees
celebrated by Giosuè Carducci in his poem Davanti San Guido, and then finishes into a tiny medieval village,
situated on the base of the foothills.

Tenuta dell'Ornellaia, named after the grove of flowering ash trees surrounding the winery in
Bolgheri, was founded in 1981 by Piero Antinori’s brother, Lodovico. The key element of the success of
this renowned estate is its unique soil, composed of clay, gravel, and loam, ideally suited for the cultivation
of Bordeaux varieties. While its most famous wine, Ornellaia, is a carefully crafted blend of Cabernet and
Merlot, Masseto is a rare, single vineyard wine made entirely from Merlot grapes. The Masseto hill, which
now is the source of rich, silky elegant Merlot has become a modern classic.

Sagrantino di Montefalco is a dark and powerful grape, responsible for some of the finest red wines
in Central Italy, and Paolo Bea’s Sagrantinos are the most remarkable of them all. Bea is a firm believer in
non-interventionist and natural winemaking which includes organic practices in the vineyard and hands-off
approach in the cellar. His goal is to keep the wines alive, allowing them to showcase identity of the place
they come from.

Vieux Télégraphe has been growing vines on La Crau plateau in Châteauneuf-du-Pape for 100 years.
The old communication tower that used to stand there gave the name to the winery. The plateau itself is
considered by many the best cru in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and produces earthy, deeply structured wines.

Château La Nerthe is the oldest estate in the region. The vines here are 40 years old and certified
organic since 1998. The wines are more modern in style with softer tannins.

The Perrin family has blended its unique vinification methods with eco-friendly practices to produce
wines of the highest reputation. The estate started farming organically in 1950 and in 1974, went a step
further converting to biodynamic farming. They use a high percentage of Mourvèdre in their blend.

PINOT NOIR
CALIFORNIA - CENTRAL COAST
Our wines are an extension of myself: loud, uncompromising, full of love and heart but mostly
honest - says Greg Linn. His Ambullneo Vineyards Pinot Noir scored a 95 point rating in 2002 as the first
in the Central Coast. Linn’s wines are the true definition of artisan and they show the influence of his
favorites like Domaine de la Romanée Conti, Leroy, Claude Dugat. Old world meets new world in Greg
Linn’s wines. The fruit is tamed and the earth tones added to connect the bridge from what was, to what is,
in a unique and precise way.

CABERNET SAUVIGNON | BORDEAUX BLENDS
Since 1972, Randy and Lori Dunn have been producing world-class cabernet sauvignon, well
before the Howell Mountain AVA was recognized. Both their Howell Mountain and Napa Valley bottlings
are always 100% cabernet. Lower in alcohol than their neighbors, their wines are the closest examples to
fine Bordeaux showing flavors of chocolate, cassis, and black raspberry.

Founded in 1968, Diamond Creek was California’s first winery to focus on producing estate
vineyard cabernet sauvignon. Gravelly Meadow shows jammy blackberry, and hints of cedar. Red Rock
Terrace produces more velvety tannins, with hints of cherry, mint and black currant. Volcanic Hill is the
darkest of our examples, expressing cassis, violets, and a little smoke.

In 1982, after a six year search, Sir Peter Michael and Lady Michael purchased 630 acres of
volcanic ridges on the western face of Mount St. Helena in Knights Valley. Drawing inspiration from the
great wineries of Burgundy and Bordeaux, the family hired like-minded viticulturists and winemakers to
help them create terroir-driven wines that would stand the test of time.

RHÔNE VARIETALS
Sine Qua Non is a California cult winery known for its Rhône style blends, a tendency to avoid
repetition, and a very limited production of wine that is highly difficult to obtain. Manfred Krankl and his
wife Elaine founded the winery in 1994. Sourcing fruit from a wide variety of growers from year to year,
and increasingly from their own vineyards has caused the winery to never make exactly the same wine
twice. A tradition at Sine Qua Non is that each wine has a distinct name, label and often bottle style. Each
label is hand made by Manfred with linocut art work of his own creation.
