TOPIC: Weekend with my family
Dear Parents,
Happy New Year! I would like to inform you about some practices that are
being applied in the lesson of Greek Language. In the class we use the Greek
language in a big percentage. Studies have shown that this practice must be applied to
beginners too, because children cannot learn a language in depth if they don’t have
enough acoustic stimuli of it. You all know that for the teaching of Greek language
we use mainly the klik book. In the 4th grade 7 units must be taught (16-22). In the
end of each one (the teaching of one unit lasts approximately 3 weeks) the students
will take a test. Next Tuesday, the students will take a test on unit 17.
I will upload homework on Archie every two weeks. The day will be Thursday
and the students will have until next Tuesday to turn it in. It is okay if they have any
difficulties because the day after they turn it in, we will self-correct and answer
questions. Please, turn in the homework on the due date.
On the weekdays, the students usually won’t have homework, but every
Thursday they have to study the notes of the week that they have taken on their
notebooks because on Friday they will take a quiz on the vocabulary and grammar of
the week (This Friday they won’t write a quiz because they will have a test on
Tuesday. Additionally, on Friday we are going to read Greek mythology that the
children love. Furthermore, starting from the next unit, we are going to try to include
an experiential activity. For example, the next unit is about parties so we are going to
make a Greek dessert.
