ABSTRACT
Cancer is a multifactorial disease, resulting from the interaction of genetic,
environmental and lifestyle factors. Moreover, the tumour development can be
triggered by alterations occurring at different levels: DNA mutations, epigenetic
alterations, RNA expression levels, protein translation and/or post-translational
modifications. Also interaction with the immune system and trans-cellular
signaling can influence cancer features, thus meaning diagnosis, prognosis and
therapeutic options.
Understanding this complex process at all these levels is crucial to identify new
potential biomarkers or therapeutic targets: this webinar will highlight new
interesting approaches (including NGS and methylation analysis) in cancer
research to offer the opportunity to go deeper into tumour understanding and
characterization.
