Water Technology and Management
Water is our lifeline, we drink it, we travel on it and we enjoy it,
especially in Fryslân. Water plays a major part in our wellbeing
and therefore we have to cherish and protect it. To ensure water
quality and good water management now and for future generations, innovative sustainable approaches are warranted.
Frisian PhD researchers from various knowledge institutes
are working at the scientific forefront of water technology and
management and their multidisciplinary research will provide
us with the solutions for the future.
On the first day of the Autumn School, keynote speakers will
discuss the meaning and importance of valorisation (i.e. societal
impact of scientific research) within the research field of water
technology and management.
Thereafter, we will focus on the valorisation of ongoing research
projects of Frisian PhD researchers. The goal is to align the research approaches with current challenges within the regional
context, guiding us towards a sustainable and livable environment.
Graduate School Campus Fryslân
The Graduate School Campus Fryslân (GSCF) aims
to strengthen the Frisian academic community by
increasing the number of talented researchers
and facilitates the PhD-research in four research
domains: Culture, Language & Technology,
Governance & Sustainable Economy, Food &
Health and High Tech Systems & Materials.
The Graduate school offers a training programme for all its PhD researchers. UG/
Campus Fryslân is recruiting additional
PhD researchers to establish a steady
number of 50 PhD projects.

Campus Fryslân is a unique faculty dedicated to the multidisciplinary study of
scientific questions connected with social and economic themes relevant to
the province. The core philosophy of the faculty involves connecting regional
themes with interdisciplinary global issues. In practice, the faculty will teach
students to apply theoretical knowledge of societal issues playing out at a global
level to real-world regional cases.
