Ninth Sunday of Saint Luke. On this day, we commemorate the Forefeast of the
Presentation of the Theotokos into the Holy Temple; and Saint Gregory the Righteous
of Decapolis; Dasios, the Holy Martyr; Nirsa the Bishop, and Joseph his student, in
Persia; the Holy Martyrs Isakios, John, and Savorios (died by stoning); Geithazet and
antoher three who died by spears; the Holy Virgins Thecla, Vaoutha, and Denachis,
died by the sword; Efstathios, Thespesios, and Anatolios; Saint Theoktistos; and Saint
Proclos, Archbishop of Constantinople.

Today, we will have the 3 month memorial in loving memory of George
Papanikolaw, given by his family.

Today is Grandparents Day. Today, our parish service and Sunday School will be
celebrating “Grandparents Sunday.” The goal is for every child to be joined in worship
service by their grandparents. Our Sunday School teachers will be working with all children
in writing a page about who their grandparents are, where they are from (did they come to
America from Greece and what part of Greece?). What are the names of their grandparents’
parents? How far back can they trace their heritage? How have their grandparents interacted
in their lives? Parents, please help your children with all good details.

Important Notice to Greek School Parents
Please be informed that Greek School access will continue to be from the rear of
the church through the kitchen door and directly into the church hall and classrooms. Even
though we have regained access to the front stairs, the Education Committee and the
teachers have decided to continue using the rear entrance because it provides more safety for
our students. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact a member of the
education committee. Thank you for your attention and cooperation in this important safety
issue.

YOUTH GROUPS
For all Youth Families: there are registration forms by the candle area –Narthex, to
pick upon on your way out. Please register your children for their respectively-aged Groups.
HOPE CHILDREN, AGES 3-7: It’s time to gather the children, ages 3-7! Our
HOPE group is a ministry at Saint Constantine and Helen that provides an opportunity for
children to meet, socialize, and interact with one another through monthly events. There is
no annual registration fee to join HOPE; you just attend and pay the small fee for the
activities you are interested in!
The events for the next few months are listed below. Please consider getting your
kids involved in HOPE this year. The activities are geared to bring the youth of Saints
Constantine and Helen together in a fun and educational way while forming a sense of
belonging to our parish. Please reach out to the HOPE advisors (contact info below) for
additional information!
December: Gingerbread decoration, learn Christmas Hymn and learn about Christ
being the greatest gift we receive on Christmas from Father Samaras.

Choir
HANDEL’S “MESSIAH” AT WEST POINT: West Point cadets and members of
area choirs, including members of our own choir, will perform the Christmas section of
Handel’s “Messiah” at the West Point Chapel on Sunday, December 4, at 3:00 PM. For
further information contact our choir director Leo Michaels.

BRETHREN, see with what large letters I am writing to you with my own hand. It is
those who want to make a good showing in the flesh that would compel you to be
circumcised, and only in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. For
even those who receive circumcision do not themselves keep the law, but they desire to have
you circumcised that they may glory in your flesh. But far be it from me to glory except in
the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the
world. For neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.
Peace and mercy be upon all who walk by this rule, upon the Israel of God. Henceforth let
no man trouble me; for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus
Christ be with your spirit, brethren. Amen.

Ninth Sunday of Saint Luke
The Lord said this parable: "The land of a rich man brought forth plentifully; and he
thought to himself, 'What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?' And he said, 'I
will do this: I will pull down my barns, and build larger ones; and there I will store all my
grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, 'Soul, you have ample goods laid up for
many years; take your ease, eat, drink, be merry.' But God said to him, 'Fool! This night
your soul is required of you; and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?' So is he
who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God." As he said these things, he
cried out: "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

Πρὸς Γαλάτας 6:11-18
Σὺ Κύριε, φυλάξαις ἡµᾶς καὶ διατηρήσαις ἡµᾶς.
Σῶσον µε, Κύριε, ὅτι ἐκλέλοιπεν ὅσιος.
Ἀδελφοί, ἴδετε πηλίκοις ὑµῖν γράµµασιν ἔγραψα τῇ ἐµῇ χειρί. Ὅσοι θέλουσιν
εὐπροσωπῆσαι ἐν σαρκί, οὗτοι ἀναγκάζουσιν ὑµᾶς περιτέµνεσθαι, µόνον ἵνα µὴ τῷ σταυρῷ
τοῦ Χριστοῦ διώκωνται. Οὐδὲ γὰρ οἱ περιτετµηµένοι αὐτοὶ νόµον φυλάσσουσιν, ἀλλὰ
θέλουσιν ὑµᾶς περιτέµνεσθαι, ἵνα ἐν τῇ ὑµετέρᾳ σαρκὶ καυχήσωνται. Ἐµοὶ δὲ µὴ γένοιτο

διελογίζετο ἐν ἑαυτῷ λέγων· τί ποιήσω, ὅτι οὐκ ἔχω ποῦ συνάξω τοὺς καρπούς µου; καὶ
εἶπε· τοῦτο ποιήσω· καθελῶ µου τὰς ἀποθήκας καὶ µείζονας οἰκοδοµήσω, καὶ συνάξω ἐκεῖ
πάντα τὰ γενήµατά µου καὶ τὰ ἀγαθά µου, καὶ ἐρῶ τῇ ψυχῇ µου· ψυχή, ἔχεις πολλὰ ἀγαθὰ
κείµενα εἰς ἔτη πολλά· ἀναπαύου, φάγε, πίε, εὐφραίνου. εἶπε δὲ αὐτῷ ὁ Θεός· ἄφρον, ταύτῃ
τῇ νυκτὶ τὴν ψυχήν σου ἀπαιτοῦσιν ἀπὸ σοῦ· ἃ δὲ ἡτοίµασας τίνι ἔσται; οὕτως ὁ
θησαυρίζων ἑαυτῷ, καὶ µὴ εἰς Θεὸν πλουτῶν.
