Current 802.11af Status
• Approved the TGaf minutes from the September Wireless Interim in
Indian Wells, and October 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th, and November
6th teleconferences in documents 11-12-1204r0, 11-12-1220r0, 11-121317r0 , 11-12/1319, 11-12/1251r0, 11-12/1294r0 and 11-12-1314r0
respectively.
• Approved draft P802.11ad D2.1 (with all the changes voted in Indian
Wells meeting) as working draft.
• Resolved most of the comments in this meeting. 29 comment still need
resolutions from Letter Ballot 189.
• Produced response to 802.19 comments on CA document. Updated CA
document is 11-11/0177r1.
• Will create Draft 2.2 standard and will do a 20 day peer review to assist
with producing an improved draft for recirculation in January 2013.

Regulatory update
• ETSI BRAN: Has created draft Harmonized European norm (0. 0.10).
Available in IEEE 802.11 members area. Next F2F meeting is on Dec. 5.
Most likely it will be send out for comments by end of Feb. 2013.
• FCC NPRM 12-118: This outlines plan for reverse auction. Layout of
spectrum. Discussion going on in 802.18.
• Korea: Pushing ahead with the rule for TVWS.
• Other: Singapore and Ireland are beginning to develop some momentum.

Regulatory update
• Japan: Coexistence mechanism between white space systems is being
discussed in the committee for white space promotion, MIC. Different
kind of databases with for coexistence:
(a) WSDB for co-existence between primary and secondary users
(b) WSDB for co-existence between secondary users that uses different wireless access (eg.
802.19)
(c) WSDB for co-existence between secondary users that uses common wireless access (eg.
802.11af/RLSS)
802.11af fundamental systems has been developed and demonstrated at WiFi alliance
meeting held in Tokyo by NICT.

Plan for Vancouver Meeting
• Resolve all comments from LB 189 and comments received from 802.11
WG peer review.
• Prepare Draft 3.0 and begin WG recirculation letter ballot.
Teleconferences: Weekly on Tuesdays March 30th. Time: 21:00 ET for up to 2
hours.
